SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY
 

John E. Tuthill Attorney


John E. Tuthill practices law in St. Petersburg, Florida with and emphasis on family, criminal, military and veterans law. 
                       
He received his Juris Doctor in 1972 in Ohio Northern University and did post-graduate work in an MBA program at Bryant College in Rhode Island. 
 
He retired from the United States Navy JAG Corps after thirty-three years of service and was one of the Navy’s first two reserve appellate judges serving in Washington, DC. 
 
Mr. Tuthill was a felony division director at the State Attorney’s Office for the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida. In addition to other specialized areas such as organized crime and career criminal cases, he prosecuted child abuse and child sexual abuse cases.
 
Both as a prosecutor and in private practice, he has twice won the Pinellas County Victim Rights Coalition Award. 
 
John Tuthill has been a volunteer attorney for the Guardian ad Litem Program for over six years.
 
He has been active in numerous organizations involving children, including the Counsel Adoptable Children, Little League, and youth soccer.
 
He is an adoptive parent of two now-adult children.
 
John is married to Regina, the former Chief United States Probation and Pretrial Officer for the Northern District of Indiana.
